Rummaging Through The Sand

Tricky night and had planned on keeping a watching brief but Rummaging cannot be ignored in division one of the mile handicap. The course and distance ten year old has been running well enough over varying distances without winning (last win 9/7/2015) but finally has been dropped into the bottom grade. The mile should suit and appears to be his optimum trip now for two reasons;

– Finished a staying on third over seven in December.

– Arguably his best run in recent times was when finishing second to the decent yard stick Coreczka in May over course and distance.

Horses dropping in class generally in racing are to be feared and while this ten year old may appear long in the tooth, the yard would not have prevailed if not thinking they could get a win out of him at some stage.

Drawn perfectly in stall six now that the cut away has been installed at Dundalk the horses seem to favour coming down the middle to outside of the track.

The remainder are a much of a muchness, Multiviz is 0-27, and Texas Radio has hinted at winning all winter and has yet to get his head in front. Military Hill has won 1-22 runs and is another who has a chance but can’t be trusted.

A low grade competitive handicap filled with horses that would be lost without Dundalk the class horse will hopefully prevail.
